Review Tuesday: Legend of the Muse (2017)

Legend of the Muse (2020) - IMDb

MUSE
aka
Legend of the Muse
(2017)
A struggling artist finds his muse.
As you might have guessed, yes, this was another friend's choice. Since it's steeped in Irish and Scottish folklore, she wanted to see it. That and the fact that the star is a hot chick who runs around naked a lot, but I will get to that in a moment.

This artist, Adam (played by Riley Egan), is a loser. He can't sell his art. He can't pay his rent. He can't get the girl he wants. So when his drug dealer neighbor offers him a big chunk of cash to drive him somewhere, he does it. This drive into the middle of nowhere sends him down a new path in life. He meets his Muse, Leannan Si (played by the lovely Elle Evans). She inspires him and takes care of him. His work is now inspired. He gains notoriety. She protects him. She becomes jealous when the woman he likes shows interest. Before things come to a horrific end, the artist has to make a tough decision.

This was one of those free-to-view movies on Amazon or Freevee. Whatever. Same thing. It was pretty well made. It had action. It had something you don't see too often anymore, female nudity! And make no mistake, this IS a horror film. There's plenty of violence and gore. Was it a great movie? No. Not really. Was it better than the average free-to-view Amazon movie? Hell yeah! It was watchable. It wasn't boring. The lore in the story was fun. The ending was a bit of a surprise. Not bad.
