Review Tuesday: THE BOYS - Season 4 (2024)

The Boys: Season 4 | Rotten Tomatoes

THE BOYS
Season 4
(2024)
The team has to deal with the after-effects of season 3.
As a huge Karl Urban fan I have been onboard with this series since it was first announced. It's based on a comic book series that explores what a world would really be like if we have superheroes. They wouldn't be like Superman or Spider-man, they would get drunk on their own greatness and take advantage.

Butcher has to deal with cancer due to his use of the supe drug: V. Annie "Starlight" January has to come to terms with her powers. Homelander continues his downward spiral. Frenchy has to come to terms with her violent past and Kimiko has to try to adjust to it.

This season might sound like it's a lot more human drama than the usual antics from the previous three seasons of THE BOYS, but don't worry, all the usual supe bullshit still goes down. In fact, this season is politically charged, with a presidential election that the outcome will forever change the standings of the superhero community.

As always, I liked this season. They did try to make a lot of parallels between conservatism and blindly following the protectors of the people. Yawn. Thanks for the usual Amazon woke message. Regardless, still worth watching.
