When religious figures are violently murdered, The Church sends Sister Irene to investigate. 

I thought that I had reviewed this already because I saw it with my BFF a while ago, but I suppose I didn't. However, I rewatched it with Mrs Bax0jayz recently, so here goes. 

 

The Nun is one of the most popular recurring characters in The Conjuring franchise. Popular enough that they gave her two movies telling her backstory, so far. In this one, The Nun returns looking for a Holy Relic of unknown power and leaving a trail of horrible murders as she moves across Europe. Sister Irene (Taissa Farmiga) is sent to investigate. 

The movie has plenty of jump scares, and THE NUN effects are really good. I had some fussy criticisms, however. It seems like every character has a different accent, and some are almost impossible to understand, like Maurice, played by Jonas Bloquet.   

Mrs Bax0jayz quite enjoyed it, but I felt it was solidly OKAY. I feel like the Sister Irene backstory was better than the story of The Nun. Not bad.
