Final Destination
Bloodlines
2025
Something of an origin story for the strange things that have been happening across the franchise.
Last year I had heard that legendary horror actor Tony Todd passed away after filming his parts for the most recent Final Destination film. Even though I only saw teh first two, I felt like I wanted to see this one. And, to my surprise, my BFF surprised me with it recently, so here goes.

Stefani Reyes (Kaitlyn Santa Juana) was having recurring nightmares about her grandmother dying in a horrible catastrophe. It was weighing on her so badly that she was failing her classes on college. She decided to go home and look for some answers.

That, of course, was when she let the cat out of the bag and everything started going wrong.

This movie has the usual formula, where Stefani has the premonitions and people die in grisly ways. It even gives an explanation and a link joining the other films together. I would call it entertaining, but some scenes felt like they drew out the kill longer than necessary. Also, a lot of the effects were pretty good, but other times the CGI was cartoon-like.

If you like this franchise, I would say it's worth watching especially for Tony Todd's final scene. It makes it worthwhile.
