Romantic weekend spoiled by Zorba the Greek

Mrs. Baxojayz likes to surprise me with little trips here and there, especially on significant dates and weekends.

So this was our Valentine's Weekend.

Since I couldn't get Sunday or Monday off due to tax season we took off Friday afternoon to head out to Mountain Creek in NJ for 1 day and 2 nights. I had a bad feeling form the start about this because all the directions to get to this place were conflicting. And then Dante has had some relapse of his infection. Mostly topical, but the doctor has us injecting him with antibiotics. We couldn't leave him alone over the weekend so Dante came out with us. That was fun. It was cute having him in the car and to see him in the room with us. We even took him shopping with us while the chambermaid made up the room.

But I digress...

We had our gift exchange on Friday night. That was fine. And things ended up as one would expect for a Valentine's exchange. 'Nuff said. ;)

But it turned out that Mrs. Baxojayz had something more in store for Saturday night. She cracked open some champagne, and we were having Italian food in our room. So I had a good feeling where this was headed. But then she started flipping through the channels and found "Zorba the Greek" with Anthony Quinn on PBS. She was immrdiately entranced by the movie. It's set in Greece, and people are speaking Greek so she couldn't tear herself from the tv. So by 11:30 I was totally exhausted, and knowing I had to be up early to head to NYC to work the next morning, called it a night. She even apologized for being consumed by the movie and ditching her plans. Oh well. At least she had a good time with Zorba.
