Soup Burg

Working on the Upper East Side of New York has good and bad points. I shall focus on one of the bad points: reasonably priced food.

It's nearly impossible to find a reasonably priced meal nearby. So when Soup Burg opened up around the corner, on Lexington Avenue between 76th and 77th Streets, I figured I'd give this gip joint a try. The prices were average to high for diner type food, but their reputation was top notch.

Today I ordered a Pizza Burger Deluxe with a fountain soda. Altogether the bill was about $11 and that's for take out that I took out, not even delivery.

The lettuce, tomato, and pickle were fresh and crispy. The meager fries were crunchy and warm. The burger was well done even though I asked for medium. That's fine. It was a little bigger than I expected. For a pizza burger it wasn't sloppy at all and pretty tasty.

All in all, the food was good, but the price seems a bit stiff for lunch.
