Top Five Female Voices

Some that didn't make this list but came close are, Debbie Harry(smooth strong voice), Christina Aguilera (belts out a tune like a gospel singer, but limited in what she can really sing and sound good at), Heart (strong voices, but can get annoying fast), and Madonna (good voice but too nutty).

Without further ado, my list of top five female voices

5. That broad from Evanescence, Amy Lee. She's chubby, annoying, and believe me, you DON'T want to see her without her makeup, but she can belt out a tune. She might've made it higher on the list if she didn't have such chips on her shouder. I've seen them perform at least twice and her voice is as fresh and strong for the last song as it is during the first. But don't stand too close, she likes to spit water on the crowd. Blech!

4. Those hags from ABBA. I'm not ashamed to admit that anytime I catch ABBA on the radio I MUST listen. The wonderful voices of those two singers are just too good to hate just because they were major powers of the disco age.

3. The girls of the B-52s. Anything with their voices in it is good. When that dude opens his mouth, though, it's like someone running nails down a chalkboard. Too bad they didn't have more publicized solo work, if they had solo work. I think one did a song with REM, Shiny Happy People, which happens to be the only REM song I like.

2. Shirley Manson from Garbage. Her voice can ONLY be classified as the sexiest female voice in rock and roll. She has those lower tones and sings like a siren beckoning men to their doom. Live she's not as good, but does a fine job. What is really amazing is that she has the thickest Scottish accent when she speaks but it vanishes when she sings.

1. Gwen Stefani. Her voice is too good for No Doubt, but she is what makes the band thoroughly enjoyable. She has a mostly higher range to her voice, but somehow everything that she lends her voice to just makes the song better. A voice like an angel. We are blessed to hear her tones.
