Why I won't buy Scott Weiland's albums

I believe that Scott is a super talent. Anything he lends his vocals too just sounds great. When STP first came out people called them a Pearl Jam rip-off. I always felt their music was much more listenable. And I can listen to anything that Scott sings on. Even Sour Girl. (FYI: I wish I could've gotten my hands all over Sarah Michelle Gellar like he did in that video. Lucky dude)

So many years ago there was a radio contest for STP tixx and I won!

Wow. Tixx for a show I wanted to see. Awesome!

Then the day before the show Scott announces he's going to rehab and everyone who won tixx was left with nothing. Not even a keychain or a cd. At that moment I became bitter. Scott is blowing off his responsibilities for the heroine.

So I'll blow off my responsibilities as a fan and NOT spend my dollars on Scott's music.

However, I'm glad he did get help. I hope he never ends up like Layne Staley of Alice In Chains. So addicted that he died of and overdose and no one knew it for a long time. By the time they found his carcass it wasn't even recognizable.

Maybe, somehow, someday, Weiland will redeem himself in my eyes.
