I meant to write a little note Friday night about how the ghoulish news media couldn't seem to wait for the passing of Pope John Paul II. By the time I was on my way home from work, about 7:30PM EST they had already started their "death watch."
Disgusting.
And it only got worse as the night went on. We saw a movie, and when we were heading home well after 11:00PM EST they were explaining what will happen when the Pope dies. It was a nonstop discussion about the Pope as if he had already died. They discussed how they elect a new Pope, how they make sure the current Pope has passed away, etc., all the while announcing that the Pope is in his final hours and his death was at hand.
Vulgar.
The press really needs to learn to be less uncouth and more respectful.
