Last night I sat at the dinner table at my inlaw's home. As usual my wife and her parents were speaking to eachother in Greek. I assumed that they must've been going over the father's haul from his fishing trip that day. I didn't take notice when Stacey's mother got up and walked out of the room.
She returned a moment later holding a watch and placed it between my wife and I.
"Try it on," my wife urged, and I did. It fit nicely. It wasn't ticking. An old golden watch.
"That was a gift to me from my grandfather," Stacey informs me. "You can have it. It's an Omega. That's real gold."
"Wait," I stammered, "this is an antique gold watch? Your grandfather's antique gold watch and you want me to have it?" I looked it over. Sure enough it says 18k all over. I'm a white metal kinda guy, but how can you say no to something like that?
"If want it, it's yours," she said. Her entire family was looking on with approval.
"How can I say no to such a generous gift? A family heirloom, no less. Thank you!" as I admired the watch on my wrist. I was blown away by this act, and completely appreciative.

THANKS HONEY!
And to the criminals, don't bother breaking in -- the wife has it locked away on the safety deposit box.
