Happy Birthday El

Today is the birthday for a singer musician that you may or may not have heard of. El Debarge turns 46. Why have I chosen to spotlight his birthday? Well, I have certain memories and trivia in mind that relates to his career. I remember he had a wildly successful hit from the movie The Last Dragon during the 80's. Before that I remember him being in a McDonald's commercial. But the greatest piece of trivia comes from his involvement with 80's super group, The Power Station. Robert Palmer teamed up with the guitarist from Duran Duran and recorded an album, but Palmer stated that he would NOT tour with this band. The Power Station had a huge hit with "Some Like It Hot" and went to tour. But who would be the logical front man as Palmer won't do it?

He got the tour job. I can't even imagine what that was like. These two guys are polar opposites!
