In the movies: Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End

After seeing the first two PIRATES movies, I knew I had the see the third instalment. Unfortunately it opened to horrid reviews, yet kept theater seats filled for a good month. That was when we decided to check it out.
To start, it's nearly cleared the $300 million it cost to make this film. I read it somewhere. It hasn't even fallen out of theaters yet, just wait for DVD!

Okay, as for the film, I liked it. It brought closure to what was left wide open in the second movie. Yes, it was long. Yes, it was a bit confusing at times, but for the most part, it was far more fun figuring out who was going to stab who in the back next. There were so many conspiracies going on that you might've needed a tally sheet to keep on top of it all.

The only scene I would've changed was at the end, when the Black Pearl went up against the Flying Dutchman. I would've liked to see the two fleets converge on each other and a huge sea battle begin. Then it would've been fine when the Dutchman and the Pearl destroy the British flagship. The armada would turn, and run. Perfect in my book, but I didn't write the script.

Other than that, I liked what I saw, even the grungy-and-dirty yet yummy-and-tasty Keira Knightley. Bill Nighy was awesome, yet again, as Davy Jones. Depp kept his Sparrow flying. Rush was fantastic as Barbossa. The entire cast was better than ever.

If you saw the first two, you must watch this third. If you missed the others, watch them, then catch this. But I think they are a ton of pirate fun, and worth the time. I can't wait to get it on DVD!
