Some Vampire Stories

Have a spare $135 mill?

From the AP - The New York heir of Romania's former royal family yesterday put the medieval Bran Castle in Transylvania - Made famous by Bram Stoker's "Dracula" - on the market, hoping it would sell for about $135 million.

Interestingly enough, the castle up for sale is probably NOT the one mentioned in the book by Bram Stoker. He made referance to a castle that was in partial ruin, which was, more likely Poenari Castle, also located in Transylvania.

This site has some nice background on both structures:

Vampire Peacock?

A group of people in Staten Island were feeding a peacock in the parking lot of a Burger King. A man arrived on the scene screaming that the colorful bird was actually a vampire and he needed to kill it. He grabbed the animal by the neck, slammed it to the ground and proceeded to kick and step on the bird. The Police were called in immediately, and upon hearing the sirens the lunatic vanished. The bird had to be euthanized due to the extent of the injuries.
