In the theater: Young Frankenstein

Mel Brooks is a comedic genius. His movies were always hilarious. When we saw The Producers on Broadway and it was riotously funny. So when I heard that Young Frankenstein was hitting the Great White Way, I knew I had to see it.

So what can I say? The show didn't disappoint. The casting was perfect. The songs were funny. The gags were hilarious.

I would say you should go and see it if you can, but now there is an extra layer of urgency in that statement. The show will be closing in January, 2009. There's not much time left. Get to it and see it ASAP and create a memory that will continue tickling your funny bone for ages!

I'm gonna holdfast that the original movie cannot be beaten out.

The original is a classic, no doubt, but as a conversion to a musical, the stage version is pretty good. A lot of fun!
