In Print: The Darwin Awards by Wendy Northcutt

A friend recognized my twisted sense of irony and humor and felt I needed to read The Darwin Awards by Wendy Northcutt.

If you're not familiar with the Darwins, they are awarded to people who commit such unbelievably stupid acts that they either end up dead or unable to reproduce which makes the outlook for future generations look much brighter.

The book was written in 2000, so by this time you've probably heard about a great many of the tales and myths via the Internet and television. I think Mythbusters have tested a great many of the urban legends that are featured int he book. But what's more fascinating are the shockingly odd and numerous ways for people to get their tickets punched.

There's something morbidly fascinating even gruesome yet funny at times. Definitely an unusual read. It might make you think twice before doing something dumb and / or thoughtless. More can be found at the official website: http://www.darwinawards.com/
