I recently purchased a collection of books by various authors. In the mix was DECEPTION POINT by Dan Brown. Since I mostly liked the "Da Vinci Code" series, I thought I'd give this a shot.
During a Presidential election year, NASA ends up in the sights of a greedy politician as a sacrificial lamb to get himself into the White House. The sitting President and the powers that be are intent on keeping that from happening.
To me, this book seemed rather formulaic, much like Brown's other books that I have read. Good looking main character, meets another good looking main character of the opposite sex, then the spend the rest of the book trying to survive while galvanizing their love at first sight.
The story is very predictable, as are the characters. Also Brown writes this on a sixth grade level and describes so many things in great detail, you feel like he's writing a school book.
I didn't feel like there was anything thrilling about this thriller. But if you want to give it a shot, it's very little meat with a lot of filler.
