A while back I purchased a collection of books on eBay, including the Dan Brown books I have not yet read to that point. Even though I already felt tired of his style after reading Deception Point, I fought along and read Digital Fortress.
A good looking and incredibly smart young couple find themselves sucked into an NSA conspiracy and have to use their intellect to save the day.
This book strikes me as almost a carbon copy of Deception Point. While the circumstances are different, the formula is EXACTLY THE SAME. I don't know what Dan Brown's hard on for the head of the NSA, but in two books in a row he is the well-meaning, yet evil, villain. Couple that with a third grade reading level and the same stupid "without wax" reference that Brown recycled in "The Lost Symbol" and you know how bad a hack writer he truly is.
If you want your child to read a book, this might keep his attention. But if you already read a Dan Brown novel, there's no need to waste your time with this unoriginal story. Save yourself. Read some Ludlum instead.
