Review Tuesday: The Very Best of Neil Diamond

Today I'm taking another trip down memory lane, I had the opportunity to listen to The Very Best of Neil Diamond.

For years Neil Diamond has been hailed as the goof of the music industry. No one would admit to liking him or his music, but I think time has corrected opinions and justified his body of work.

Here's the tracklist:
1. Forever In Blue Jeans
2. Beautiful Noise
3. Love On The Rocks
4. Cherry Cherry (2011 Remastered Mono)
5. I am...I said
6. Sweet Caroline
7. Cracklin' Rosie
8. Play Me
9. I'm A Believer (2011 Remastered Mono)
10. Girl, You'll Be A Woman Soon (2011 Remastered Mono)
11. Holly, Holy
12. Solitary Man (2011 Remastered Mono)
13. Song Sung Blue
14. You Don't Bring Me Flowers(duet with Barbra Streisand)
15. Hello Again
16. Red, Red Wine
17. If You Know What I Mean
18. Brother Love's Travelling Salvation Show
19. Pretty Amazing Grace
20. Kentucky Woman (2011 Remastered Mono)
21. Shilo (2011 Remastered Mono)
22. America
23. Hell Yeah
How can you really listen to great songs like Cracklin' Rose, Hello Again, America, and Sweet Caroline and not take a warm trip down memory lane? How can you listen to I'm A Believer and not realize how this man was the genius behind The Monkees? (Did you know he wrote a lot of their songs in the beginning?)

Regardless of what you say in public, this is definitely a nice record to have, especially for the nostalgia value. It reminds me of sitting in the back of Dad's '66 Ford driving out to Long Island. So yeah, I like it for several reasons, and there's nothing wrong with that. Give it a whirl!

Buy it on Amazon.
