Review Tuesday - ANNABELLE: CREATION

Annabelle: Creation (Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Combo Pack)

ANNABELLE
CREATION
When tragedy strikes the family of a famous doll-maker, an unthinkable deal is struck that leaves a group of orphans in peril.
This is supposed to be the origin story for the possessed doll ANNABELLE. However, this story seems to be purely the product of Hollywood writers, as the actual doll is an ordinary Raggedy Ann. That aside, this tale moves slowly and isn't even scary. At nearly two hours, you sit there and wait for the first hour to drone on as it develops the characters you don't even care about without anything even remotely interesting going on. Talitha Bateman, the child who plays the star of the movie, JANICE, did do a great job with her role. Regardless, once it starts picking up, it's STILL not good. However, they Do work out a clever, yet far-fetched, tie-in with the previous movie.

It's ponderous to me how this movie sat in the #1 spot for so many weeks in ticket sales. We felt like we wasted our time with this flick.
