A collection of collaborations H.P.Lovecraft had written with various authors back in the day.

This book is a collection of stories Lovecraft had written with other authors of "weird fiction." Many people seem to think of Lovecraft as being some master and inventor of horror stories during the first quarter of the 20th century. He was really just one of many. However, Lovecraft managed to invade the conscious of the readers of science fiction horror and left a definite mark. 

Featuring collaborations of the horror master, H. P. Lovecraft, with Robert Hayward Barlow, Hazel Heald, E. Hoffmann Price, C. M. Eddy, William Lumley, and Kenneth Sterling.

This collection, then is very interesting to read. You can tell when someone else was doing the lion-share of the writing because it was not written in the old, almost archaic, method that Lovecraft used in his story-telling. In some ways the stories were smoother that way. Some were just okay, while others were simply terrifying.   

 
I read this a while ago and finally decided to write the review. The collection is pretty good, but there was one, THE LOVED DEAD, in which the main character suffers from a "death fetish." It was chilling, but brought back a memory of a VERY similar tale. There was an X-Files episode that must have been  influenced by this particular story as it  was almost identical in content. It was possibly the most disturbing thing I have ever read! 

 

The rest of the book is also worth reading, so I would suggest it for fans of HPL, the Cthulhu Mythos, and generally weird tales.
