Review Tuesday: INCEPTION [2010]

Inception: Film, Dreams and Freud – Offscreen

INCEPTION
When a man who uses "dream sharing" for corporate espionage gets hired to implant a thought instead, the mission becomes a wild roller coaster of danger.
This is another old movie that I caught up with during a flight. I don't have too many opportunities to sit for two and a half hours straight, so it was high time to FINALLY see what all the fuss was about INCEPTION.

Your initial reaction might be, what took you so long? As a rule, I avoid several plot lines in movies, for instance, I don't like anything where children are the saviors of the day. Another, DREAMS. Dreams are fiction created within our own minds as we sleep. I am a huge fan of H.P. Lovecraft, but I had trouble getting though his works about the dream worlds. Therefore, a movie about invading dreams didn't appeal to me at all.

Boy, was I wrong!

In a 2.5 hour movie Christopher Nolan did SO MUCH character development and world(s)building that you have no choice but to be drawn, completely and quickly, into this story. The cast is AMAZING. The effects are mind-blowing. I loved every moment of the movie and the ending leaves you wondering about what you just saw. A wonderful and provocative film if you haven't seen it yet. Highly recommend it!
