Review Tuesday: IT FOLLOWS (2014)

 

IT FOLLOWS

A fatal curse is the latest sexually transmitted disease. 

Mrs. Bax0jayz had actually seen this movies years ago, but with the other movie that I am reviewing today, I felt it was necessary to finally review this one.  

The movie starts off with a horror scene. A girl is crying, trying to get away from some thing. In the next scene she is seen dead, in some brutal murder. 

 

A girl decides to sleep with her boyfriend, next thing she knows she is infected with this curse. It's a chain, connected by your sex partners. So, if you are infected, you must have sex with someone else to pass the curse along. If that person gets killed by the curse, which can show up as anything, a person, a monster, someone you know, the curse reverts back to you. Then you have to have sex with someone else to pass it along. It's a chain that can't be broken. You either pass it along, or die. 

 

The reason why I never bothered reviewing this movie is because it's dumb. The movie drags on while this girl and her friends try to offer her moral support and try to keep her from harm, but in the end they did what I told my wife from the beginning. One of her guy friends fucked her then went to a hooker. DONE. Never have to worry about that ever again. Seemed like a pretty simple solution to me. Plus the fact that the entire cast look like they were barely 16 made the whole sex thing really weird to me.

 

While this movie was pretty well polished, and the acting was fine, the whole idea and execution of it didn't interest me at all. I wouldn't advise spending any money to see this, but if you must, catch it on
