Review Tuesday: THE BOYS Season 3

  The Boys - Rotten Tomatoes

THE BOYS
Season 3
A year after the events of Season 2, things begin to unwind.
How did this HAPPEN? I finally got around to seeing Season 3 of THE BOYS a YEAR after it was released?!?! What's more, it was even more out of control than i ever could've imagined! I can't let these delays ever happen again!

After it's been made public that supes were taking advantage of their positions in society, getting away with all sorts of their own villainy, The Boys became an official government supe-control agency. Hughie is in charge. Butcher isn't killing supes.Frenchy is off the drugs. MM is off doing his own thing. Starlight is co-captain of The Seven. Everything seems to be going well. But Homelander becomes unhinged an executes his own plan for supremacy over the company. With the most powerful superhero on the planet being an obvious sociopath, it's up to The Boys to get back together and find a the weapon that might take him out.

This season is eight episodes of unbelievable content. Right when you think things can't go anymore haywire, IT DOES. This series always had a lot of gore and depravity, but this one seems to kick it up to 11 on the dial! The story is great. The cast is UNBELIEVABLE. Even bit roles are filled by pig name talent! The special effects are more polished than some movies I have seen recently.

If you haven't gotten around to this, SEE IT! Season four is due out sometime this year and I will NOT wait around this time!

So, yeah, I loved this season, like the previous ones.  THE BOYS is based on a comic series (ran 72 issues) over TWO comicbook companies and based their characters on big names form the big two companies. It's pretty obvious who they are spoofing and it's amusing. It's almost pretty realistic because if we DID have real-live superheroes, you can BET they would, literally, get away with murder!
