Review Tuesday: Violent Night (2022)

Violent Night
(2022)
When a group of mercenaries hatch a plan to rob a wealthy family, Santa saves the day... in action movie fashion!
What happened here? I could swear I reviewed this last year when I watched it, but it's not to be found. Oh well, here goes! We had heard that VIOLENT NIGHT was a surprisingly good action / horror movie for Christmas, so we gave it a shot.

A wealthy family gathers together for Christmas. They are almost entirely repellent people. Absolutely disgusting. This is why a band of mercenaries planned a huge conspiracy to rob them. The only thing the mercs didn't account for? THAT CHRISTMAS MAGIC!

While stopping by the estate and leaving gifts, the mercs discover Santa. As you can imagine, this is when things get violent.

I would say this movie was NOTHING that I was expecting. I mean, the family is is so gross I didn't really care what happened to any of them. However, Santa is such a nice and thoughtful fellow that HE saves the movie, as well as the day. Yep, I would call this a pleasant surprise and could be added to your Holiday Action movie playlist right after DIE HARD.
