My Bloody Valentine
(2009)
Ten years after the Valentine's Day massacre, the murders start up again.
During a recent trip Mrs Bax0jayz was trying to find a horror movie to watch. She selected this one because it looked like something different.
A bunch of kids wanted to have a party for Valentine's Day at the local mines. That was when a local snapped and went on a murderous rage, killing twenty two people before he was subdued. One of the survivors of that party / slaughter was Tom Hanniger (Jensen Ackles) who disappeared immediately thereafter.
Tom is the son of the mine owner, so when his father died, he returned to town to sell off the mine. The only trouble was that this mine was the life blood of the local town. Open sale of the mine, it would likely get shut down leaving the town to wither and die. However, when Tom returned to town, ten years after the Valentine's Day Massacre, so did the killings. It seemed that the murderer had returned! But how? This town had a little secret. A group of men tracked down and killed that murderer and buried his body in the woods. So if it wasn't him then who?
The movie is disappointing. It SHOWS YOU who the likely culprit is all along, but you naturally think that it's way too obvious. They try to lead you down another path but seems too contrived. What you are left with is a really nicely polished looking horror movie that was made for 3D screens but is ultimately disappointing.
