The discovery of proof of alien technology releases unrest through-out the galaxy.
While trying to figure out additional distractions during tax season, my friend (yes, her AGAIN) put on the entire series of THE EXPANSE. I had heard rave reviews about this show and was very interested in giving it a view.
Guess what? We are dealing with another tale of a dystopian future. Humans have been colonizing our galaxy, with fully formed settlements on the moon, Mars, various other planets and moons, and in the asteroid belt. There are three main populations: Earthlings, Martians and Belters. All seem to be at odds with each other. The crew of the Rocinante is somehow caught in the middle and has to piece together the clues before there is massive war over the alien proto-molecule.
The show moves along nicely and provides you with a view of the situation from several key perspectives. The special effects are really good. My only gripes are some of the cast. Jim Holden (Steven Strait) has a really annoying voice, in the way that it sounds like it hurts. The belters speak an English dialect that's similar to some of the Caribbean Islands. Bobbie Draper (Frankie Adams) doesn't look like any Marine I have ever seen.
Other than that, I liked the show. It has inspired me to read the series of books it's based on and enjoy the story in it's perfection. For now, it's a complete series and comes to a conclusion.
