A prince assembles a team and collects a mystical weapon to save his princess and his planet from alien invaders. 

I remember being a pre-teen in 1983 and how the ads for KRULL captured all of our imaginations. There was even an ATARI-2600 game for it, which we had. I have a feeling we had the game before we got to see the movie because we always just waited for everything to come to broadcast television.   

So imagine a movie about a fantasy movie, but with an alien invasion, and that's KRULL. Two kingdoms are joining through marriage for an alliance when the ceremony is crashed by aliens who kill everyone and capture the Princess. The Prince survives his wounds, and travels the land, building an army to attack the aliens and their moving base and take back his princess. 

The movie is a fun series of adventures. It's awesome in its corniness and well worth the investment of time to watch.
