Moonfall
2022
When the moon falls out of orbit, an unlikely team goes on a desperate mission to save the Earth.
I had never heard of this movie before. My BFF had decided that we were going to watch it regardless. Okay, why not?

While on a routine repair mission a space shuttle crew seems to be overwhelmed by some strange technological wave coming from the moon. The result was one death and an immediate aborting of the mission. Of course, the US Government wants to place blame on someone so they scapegoated Brian Harper (Patrick Wilson) because he was the mission commander.

Fast forward a bunch of years and it appears that Harper was right and he's the key to saving the planet as the moon shifts from its orbit and into a collision course with the Earth.

I had really low expectations for this movie. I never heard of it before. But it was a sci-fi / action / disaster movie starring Halle Berry and Patrick Wilson. I would've expected to have heard something about it. That aside, it exceeded expectations. It's your typical Armageddon type movie. It's the end of the world and only a few are clever enough to see it and figure out what to do about it. In addition, this one plays into the Hollow-Moon conspiracy theory which is always fun. Yeah, not bad.
