Underworld: Evolution

The sequel to Underworld is again being directed by Len Wiseman. Kate Beckinsale and Scott Speedman will also return.

Screenwriter Danny McBride says Underworld: Evolution will "carry the story further" and have bits of the prequel added into it.

The long opening prequel sequence of the movie will be set in the Dark Ages with armor clad vampires on horses and packs of werewolf's battling the Lycans in all-out war. The rest of the movie will take place present day.

The movie will reveal some of Selene and Viktor's history.

At the end of the original film, the sleeping vampire Marcus awakes, In Underworld 2 you get to see what the relationship between Viktor and Marcus is, and what had gone on between them before we kick into the modern times of seeing Marcus again

Most of Evolution is set in the present day, but the film will flash back to two important moments in the timeline: one, a medieval sequence, explains the relationship between the main baddies; the other reenacts the first-bite story that Selene recounted in the first film

Underworld introduces us to 'The Cleaners' this group of mysterious characters show up after each battle and assure that civilians never discover evidence of the war between the Lycans and the Death Dealers. The movie also reveals who the cleaners are working for.

SYNOPSIS

The Movie continues the saga of war between the aristocratic Death Dealers and the barbaric Lycans. The film traces the beginnings of the ancient feud between the two tribes as Selene, the beautiful vampire heroine, and Michael, the lycan hybrid, try to unlock the secrets of their bloodlines. The fast-paced, modern-day tale of deadly action, ruthless intrigue and forbidden love takes them into the battle to end all wars as the immortals must finally face their retribution.
