Lack of subway etiquette

This morning I was standing on the Manhattan-bound N platform at Queensborough Plaza. The train pulled in. The crowd parted on the platform to allow people to get off of the train. As the people stepped off, one guy pushed his way by me and stepped right up onto the train first, two steps in, reached out for the pole and stood there, blocking the way for the rest of the people who would also have liked to get on. So I blaze a trail further into the train pushing by this selfish jerk.
Incensed by my brazenness, he reached out and shoved and and yelled, "Hey! No pushing!"
To that I merely turned and snapped, "You pushed your way past ME, douche!"
I saw his face fell, then turned away quickly. Hopefully he learned that stupid and selfish behavior has no place during the morning rush.
And I'm glad it's Friday. I have two days free from the public transit system.
