rapt \ rapt \ , adjective; 
  1. deeply engrossed or absorbed: a rapt listener.
  2. transported with emotion; enraptured: rapt with joy.
  3. showing or proceeding from rapture: a rapt smile.
  4. carried off spiritually to another place, sphere of existence, etc.
Origin: Rapt can be traced to the Latin verb rapere meaning "to seize." The term entered English in the late 1300s.
  
goat rope
  • A situation or activity that has become completely fucked up, or, an exercise in futility. The phrase comes from the image of a goat, tied down with a rope, humping the rope but not getting anywhere. Similar to goat fuck.
These directions are useless - trying to find this place is such a goat rope.
