The Sikorsky Aircraft Centennial:
A Tribute by the Igor I. Sikorsky Historical Archives

by John Bulakowski & Frank Colucci

The history of one of the most important names in aviation, SIKORSKY.
I have known Frank for years. He's always been a resource of aviation history, and had an extra passion for helicopters. I had always known that he was involved in some Sikorsky historical project, but never pried nor asked too many questions about it. Earlier this year, all questions were answered!

In a joint project of passion, Bulakowski and Colucci had been compiling photos and historical notes for about Sikorsky for years. After so much work had gone into this project, they decided it was time to put it into a cover and make it available for the masses.

This soft-cover book is over two hundred pages of history and context, and coupled together with photos. I am not much on aviation, but I thoroughly enjoyed going through the pages, seeing history in the making and watching the evolution of modern air power. Most of the photos are in full color, which is a tough order considering the starting point is 1923.

Since i am fairly uninformed about anything aircraft related, Sikorsky especially, this book was a wonderful tool to learn from. Written well. Plenty of pictures to bring the words to life. A delightful resource on the topic! Highly recommended!
